Music and worship is a vital part of the life and work of First Baptist Church! From pre-school children to senior adults, people of every age are involved in serving the Lord with their musical gifts and talents. Our music ministry is purposefully designed to mirror the mission and calling of our church, so we endeavor to minister in three primary ways:

1. To the Lord, by our worship and expressions of praise and devotion to God;
2. To God’s people, by music that helps nurture Christian growth and edifies the Body of Christ; and
3. To the World, through music that teaches and gives God’s people opportunity to witness and testify to the world the message of salvation through Jesus Christ.

In working toward these ends, we cooperate together to accomplish the goal of being a Great Commission church.

News You Can Use

There are multiple opportunities for you to get involved in the Music Ministry of First Baptist Church, no matter your age! You are encouraged to join in bringing an offering of praise and worship before the Lord alongside us in the following ensembles:

-- Our Adult Choir is open to any who have a heart for worship and singing. Our Choir sings regularly in both morning and evening worship services, and prepares musicals and special presentations at different times throughout the year. We currently meet for rehearsal weekly on Sunday afternoons at 4:00 in the Choir Room.

-- Our Praise Team is a select mixed ensemble that sings in our morning worship services each week, and for other special events as needs arise. All Praise Team members support and sing with our Adult Choir as well. They currently meet for rehearsal in the Choir Room each Sunday afternoon at 3:30.

-- Our Senior Adult Choir meets at 10:00 A.M. in the Choir Room just prior to the Senior Adult Double Nickel Club meeting on the second Tuesday of each month. This is a fun and energetic group that enjoys singing the many great songs that have created our musical heritage.

-- Our Instrumental Ensemble is a growing but exciting area of ministry in our church. They provide accompaniment for our congregational worship, all of our ensembles, and multiple soloists and other groups as well as occasionally presenting special instrumental music selections. They meet for rehearsal in the Sanctuary each Wednesday evening at 7:30.

-- Our Student Ministry has a Worship Band that leads Student worship services on Wednesday evenings at 6:30. They incorporate and develop singers and instrumentalists, helping prepare them for a life of worship. We also utilize our students as Worship Leaders alongside our Choir and Praise Team each Sunday morning in the 9:00 worship service. These students meet for weekly rehearsal with the Praise Team on Sunday afternoons.

-- Our Children have a dedicated music time during their Wednesday night Team Extreme meeting that occurs at 6:30. During this time, our children learn songs to sing as an ensemble, and have opportunity to work on individual songs as well. During the year, our Children’s ministry also prepares a musical and participates in Sunday morning worship occasionally as well.

-- Our Pre-School children are lots of fun, and they often work in their classes to learn short Bible songs, and occasionally present them on Sunday mornings and at other special church events.

-- In addition to these ongoing ministries, we also utilize soloists in our worship services, and periodically draw members from our Adult Choir to create various singing ensembles also.
